April 12, 2008
Long: MLB.TV! and a Met’s world series. (btw, I have lost as much money betting on sports as I have made investing in stocks, so don’t make any bets off of this, LOL). I am in second to last in my Fantasy Baseball. Does anyone understand why I quit gambling on sports? I know I do and that is why I will NEVER do it again. It was my resolution last year to NEVER make even a $5 sports bet all year long. Here we are into April of this year and still I have all of my profits from the stock market still. Almost 600 straight days since my last sports bet. It is all about discipline. And is another example of how UNLUCKY being “lucky” can be. I had one big windfall bet when I began betting on sports at the legal age of 21 and since then spent the rest of the time trying to replicate it. At least I learned my lesson. Sometimes, I think some people should apply this lesson to their personal trading. There are some great mutual funds out there. I was long Hennessey and CGM Focus from 2003-November 2007. And YOU ALL CAN ASK Brian, a platinum subscriber, who can tell you that I did NOT sell in February (after that selloff), I did not sell it out in the summer (after that selling). Nope, I sold my funds on 11/30/2007. As soon as I realized it was THE TOP, I sold them all. When the market actually tops, you can never know it is going to be “THE TOP” until after the fact. It should be counted that in February I knew it wasn’t “the top” and neither was it in the summer. Nope, only once the selloff in November was under way and I could see EVERY leading stock break did I know the five year bull market was over. 3/25/03 to 11/30/07 I was long 20% of my IRA in CGM Focus and Hennessey. Not bad at all. Some people are not made to be professional sports speculators and some are not meant to be active-investors. I was born an active-investor who tried to convince himself he was also a “unique” sports speculator. The only thing unique about me was how consistent a loser I was at that game. LESSON LEARNED. If you are struggling, how much longer will it be, until you learn your lesson? DO NOT EVER GIVE UP IN A BEAR MARKET. IT IS STUPID AND FOOLISH. ONLY ONCE A BULL MARKET HAS COME AND GONE, CAN YOU KNOW IF THIS IS FOR YOU OR NOT. IF YOU LOST MONEY IN A RAGING BULL MARKET, and you have been doing this for more than a few years, it might not be for you. Just something to consider for the 2% of you that seem to freak out over EVERY LITTLE TICK of the market. CHILLAX bro. That is why I moved to Maui. The people in NYC were INSANE!!! with emotions. ALL OVER THE PLACE. They should meet up with my platinum subscriber wutan. That guy is a machine. Hasn’t even been around that long yet it is obvious he is a “chillaxed” professional that is in COMPLETE control of the market. Congrats, NYC needs more of you in it!
I SHOULD KNOW, I LIVED THERE! Maui No Ka Oi!!!!! Wutan, YOU are the man in NYC! Keep it up! A lot of “Manhattanites” that work at 11 Wall need to learn from you. There sure is a lot of BS and stress they could learn to avoid.
long: A nice relaxed lifestyle where only looking at charts an hour a day followed by an hour of portfolio management and order entry is all that is needed to live A VERY COMFORTABLE lifestyle.
short: A stressful existence of a “tick” by “tick” until he is “ticked off” trading mentality.
You daytraders can keep your 60 hour workweeks. I prefer teaching you the correct way to make BIG money and hold the MONSTER STOCKS by working only 10 hours a week. I don’t know about you but working 10 hour a week and making more money when the market is right compared to working 50-60 hours a week sure does sound better to me.
Obviously, with the website and me needing to take care of people, I spend more than 12 hours a day, five days a week. But when I am finished with my work here (should be about 20 years until the newbies drive me INSANE!!!) I like knowing that I am ONLY going to be working 10 hours a week and making possibly more than I am making now as compounded money is a thing of beauty. I love my life! Do you love yours? I sure hope so. If you don’t you probably have sent me a few nasty emails! ROFLMFAO.
To everyone who is very kind and actually appreciates all the hard work I am doing to try to save you from the LIARS and THIEFS of all wall and broad, YOU ARE VERY WELCOME! Not even my medical problems can keep me away from making sure that I do my best to save you from the LIES you have been brainwashed into believing as fact. MAHALO AND ALOHA for Saturday.
