DJIA Leads The Way As BSC Rocks The Stock Market On Mixed Volume; How Can This Be A Bottom Without A HUGE Surge In Volume On the Nasdaq And NYSE? It Can’t Be!

Please Note: Starting next week this free daily commentary will only be available at BigWaveTrading.net so be sure to check out the new FREE site sponsored by BigWaveTrading.com where Joshua Hayes and Market Speculator will be regularly posting some additional commentary about the markets.

Stocks gapped lower after a horrible announcement by JPM that they bought BSC for $2 a share. Now, while I don’t want to gloat on this, I just want to say that for the 100th time in my life I have warned a bunch of traders to not buy a certain stock and yet they still do it. There was one reader from Santa Barbara from RealMoney.com that attacked me 8 days ago for telling him BSC was a POS. Well here we are from $75 to $4 and yet still no apology. No, thank you. No, I am sorry. Just a big pile of nothing. From Eugj to BHCO to Gerard to WillPS to SCO to Geoffrey from Santa Barbara: all of these characters have called me out and told me that I did not know what they were doing and EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY WERE PROVEN WRONG AND EVERY SINGLE TIME I DIDN’T RECEIVE A SINGLE I AM SORRY OR THANK YOU. Is this what our world has come to? :(

Oh well, there is no doubt I have become a sensitive character in my old age and things like this bugs me now. I just don’t know how yet to act when it comes to responding to jackoffs that make themselves out to be major idiots. I guess I will learn to ignore it in the future. The exact same way I ignore going long any stock below the 50 day moving average or go short stocks above the 50 DMA.

I Am Having A Great Day Today…But What If I Wouldn’t Have….

December 13, 2007 | Leave a Comment

Remember, ASYS was NEVER a big position. In fact it was very minor, except for my one day order entry mistake, and until I saw someone just now mention it in a chat room I wouldn’t have even known it was destroyed by looking at the total returns in my accounts today. This is an important lesson on making sure that you ALWAYS trade your plan and that you never deviate away from it, even when you are feeling horrible over a stupid mistake.

Stocks Close Slightly Higher, Ending A Week Of Low Volume Gains; Beautiful Charts Still Do Not Exist

March 10, 2007 | 2 Comments

Stocks gapped higher off a mixed jobs report. Total jobs for the month came in at the lowest level in two years but the unemployment data dipped to 4.5% from 4.6% and last months numbers were revised up continuing a recent pattern, possibly giving market players a bit of buying power. The gap higher then led to an immediate selloff, followed by a weak rally, that led to even more lows. However, at the end stocks actually caught a late bid, helping them close off the lows. A pattern that did not exist the rest of the week. The prevailing pattern, before Friday’s close was to rally until the final hour then either selloff or flatline. This is bearish action and combining that with the low volume rally puts and end to a dead-cat bounce week. Read more

Stocks Finish Higher Across The Board But Suffer A Late-Day Selloff; Lower Volume Shows Institutions Are Not Interested

March 9, 2007 | Leave a Comment

My girlfriends parents arrived on Maui, today, so I spent all day with the family. Therefore, I was not around at all after the closing bell.

However, I have reviewed my charts and can honestly say that nothing has changed. The gap up this morning and steady drift all day gave way to a selloff sometime after 2pm EST. That was a pretty nasty selloff and that has now happened for the third day in a row. Combine that with the lower volume and you have another technical negative. This bounce should see some volume if it is going to have any staying power. Read more

Ugly Morning Finds Support As Stocks Rally Into The Close.

December 19, 2006 | Leave a Comment

The market started the day with a nasty gap down on two possible news stories. A big jump (largest since 1974) in Producer Prices for November and a scare over a possible new Asian-market meltdown put a lot of pressure on the indexes. However, bulls remain extremely strong in the face of selling and rallied the indexes off the lows all the way into the final hour.

Early Morning Fireworks Soon Give Way To A Dull Driftless Day Of Trading.

A gap open in the morning, thanks to some Airline merger news and strong retail sales, soon gave way to some quick selling that took the indexes slightly to the red. After those early morning lows stocks danced around the flat-line area until the final hour when they caught a small bid and managed to close green.
